Interdisciplinary
Education
The focus of my individualized degree plan is in natural science, art, and philosophy. My intersection of art and science is fairly straightforward: I would like to create art about science and combine STEM-based jobs with creative projects. Part of this is that I would like to create art that has data in it, using painting as another way of communication. Philosophy works into this mostly in terms of critical thinking and problem solving. Considering complex issues and the intentions or motivation behind actions from multiple perspectives is important in both the fields of art and science.

I have taken a wide range of STEM classes at College of the Redwoods and Cal Poly Humboldt while continuing to create and take art classes. One of the main reasons that I pursued interdisciplinary studies instead of picking one area because there are so many disciplines of STEM that I am interested in learning about, I didn't want to close any doors in what classes I could take and what areas I could learn about. I would like to continue conveying information through bright paintings in as many ways as I can. I am excited to integrate multiple disciplines into complex projects and continue to learn!
